Ask Thurgood

Ask Thurgood

An AI-driven intake and screening system for employment-law practices that automates most first-contact triage, produces structured applicant casefiles, and supports firms with human-reviewed quality control and automated client communications.

Project Description

Ask Thurgood offers an AI intake workflow designed for plaintiff-side employment law. Prospective clients complete a guided questionnaire that elicits the facts of workplace disputes (e.g., discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, whistleblowing, disability/FMLA issues). The system analyzes the narrative and uploads to generate a structured “Applicant CaseFile” with dozens of data points—alleged adverse actions, protected classes, timelines, employer details, documentary support, and preliminary issue flags—so attorneys can evaluate fit without a phone screen. According to the provider, firms using the product can eliminate the majority of intake calls (claimed ~90%) while maintaining high screening precision (claimed ~99% accuracy), with a human monitoring layer that audits edge cases and escalates submissions that merit another look.

Beyond screening, the platform supports firm operations: configurable intake outcomes trigger automated but customizable communications to applicants (e.g., requests for documents, next steps, or courteous declines). Firms can track aggregated intake metrics—protected class breakdowns, adverse-action patterns, application volume over time, and conversion rates—to inform staffing and marketing, and to spot the kinds of claims that most often advance.

Ask Thurgood also runs an employee-advocacy service that assists workers with agency filings (e.g., EEOC, OSHA) and early resolution; however, its AI intake module can be used by law practices strictly for firm-side triage and matter selection. It offers AI deployed at the “front door” of a legal service, combining structured data capture, decision support, human QA, and lifecycle messaging to reduce friction for both applicants and staff while preserving a path to attorney review on any case that warrants it.
