LIST-Labeled Legal Q Set (L3Q)
L3Q is a synthetic dataset of 3,300+ legal help questions and search prompts, labeled with LIST issue codes, jurisdiction/entity tags, and question sophistication, available in Airtable from Legal Design Lab.
Description
This dataset contains 3,300+ synthetic user questions, searches, and prompts covering common civil legal topics.
Items were generated from the Lab team's work and public FAQs' questions. None were taken from real users but the questions were based on real examples.
Each record is annotated with its LIST taxonomy code (both top-level category and specific issue).
Questions are also tagged if they name a jurisdiction (e.g., state/city/court) or mention a company/entity (e.g., landlord, utility, debt collector).
To support evaluation and routing, every item is labeled for question sophistication: basic (short query), medium (single-sentence question), complex (multi-sentence with context), or expert (technical detail and constraints).
